WHITE AFTER LABOR DAY

shirt // pants // loafers (similar)// tote w/ tassel (similar) // watch

Fun fact: I was not born a rule breaker. I do not have a rebellious heart when it comes to following the rules that are set for me. So, as you may have guessed, I have always followed the "no white after Labor Day" rule, but this year I'm breaking it! (Whoa now) It does get a little difficult to follow because it's still so warm out until the middle of October (especially for us southerners). Since I've moved to the mountains, the weather is noticeably cooler already up here! I'm loving it. Here in Tennessee, it was 54 degrees until about 10:30am, which is literally unheard of this time of year in Georgia. I almost pulled my boots out for church this morning, but I'm making myself wait until it's actually cold all day. I stayed outside most of the day because the weather was so beautiful all day. Fall, you are welcome to stay.

Before I talk about this outfit, I would like to give a huge shoutout to my beautiful, awesome, talented, super-woman mama for taking these pictures for me! She has been so helpful with my blog ever since we moved and has taken over as my photographer for now. Go mama! You rock.

One way I love to make my white pants fall-ish is to add some loafers or moccasins. I got these moccasins last season at Tuckernuck. These particular ones are sold out, but the brand is Patricia Green if you want to check her out! For sizing, they run about a 1/2 size too big. Before buying these, I went back and forth of whether to get leather mocs or suede mocs. I mainly wanted them for comfort, which is why I was leaning more towards suede, but I went with leather because they looked a bit dressier and they are so comfy so it was a win-win!

I consider this Oxford shirt a staple all year round. They look great in the spring and fall on their own and are perfect for layering when sweater weather finally arrives. (it's almost here!!!) I usually stock up on mine at the Ralph Lauren Polo stores in the outlet malls because of the discounts, so I would look there before ordering online.

Now, as much as I am embracing this white after Labor Day thing while the weather is still a bit warm, I might have a bit more trouble wearing my white skinnies with riding boots, but I'll give it a try. I have two pairs of white skinnies. One is a jegging that I like to wear with tunics and this pair that I got from Loft this past spring. At first, I didn't love how much these stretched out on me but I've actually grown to love them because these look more 'wintery' than my other ones so they give off a different vibe which I like.

Can we talk about the tote with tassels?! I'd been wanting a brown tote for the longest time and could not for the life of me decide what to get. Too many good ones and too many choices tend to make me indecisive ;). So, I decided I would find an inexpensive one and then decide if buying a designer one I loved is worth it. I found this one at TJ Maxx and can I just say...what a steal! The color is beautiful with a dark green lining inside (so very fall-love it) and I just thought the tassels really set it off. And the best part - it was only $30! I will definitely be using this one until it falls apart. I looked on the TJ Maxx website and didn't find it, but I found this one that is so similar and I've also linked another similar one above.

How do you incorporate white into your fall wardrobe?

Stay sunny,

Katie
