SUMMER SWEATER WEATHER

sweater (last season, but this one is cashmere on sale!) // skirt (s/o but very similar linked) // Jacks // bracelet // watch

My favorite part of summer is when it's nearing the end, warm in the day time and getting cooler at night ( I know, I'm weird ;) ). It's perfect to throw on a light sweater for those cool nights and add a little something extra to your outfit. That time of the night is perfect for taking a stroll or sitting on the porch or the dock.

This Vineyard Vines skirt reminds me of lake days by the dock or dinner on the beach. When it's blistering hot in the daytime, I pair it with a comfy white t-shirt and my go-to Jack Rogers and when the suns starts going down, throw on a light sweater for a perfect evening look!

I know the transition between summer and fall is difficult (especially in the South...85 degrees until October? Yikes!) but I'm convinced thats what light sweaters, jeans and flats were made for! I think the most important thing when trying to find the perfect transition outfit is to not over think it.

Here are some ways to transition your wardrobe into those cooler temps.

1. Cardigans/light sweaters- You can pretty much wear the same tops you've been wearing all summer, just throw on a cardigan over it and it automatically makes it seem less summery.

2. Change colors- Think fall colors: burgandy, olive, navy, brown, tan, etc. Start incorporating those colors into your wardrobe with simple dresses like this one (perfect with flats for now and tights and boots for later!) and light weight blouses like these

3. Jeans/Chinos- Instead of your go-to jean shorts, throw on your favorite pair of skinnies or chino pants. I like these jeans and these chinos

4. Booties and flats- I like to wait until the weather is out of the 70's to start wearing my boots all the time, so in the mean time I like to wear flats and booties! Since it's hard to wear flats when it gets really cold, early fall and spring are the best times to wear them. I just got these flats (s/o in the color I got, but the other two colors are great, too!) for fall and I'm dying to get my hands on these booties

5. Lightweight scarves- It's clearly too warm for knit scarves and blanket scarves, but just perfect for these! These are perfect to wear with tanks and short sleeve tops and dresses.

I hope these ideas will help your transition into fall a little easier and stress free!

What are ways you transition your wardrobe to fall?

Stay sunny,

Katie
