It's no secret that my favorite color is pink. It always has been and probably always will be. I had a this friend when I was little and her entire room was painted hot pink and I came home to my mom and begged her to paint my room hot pink. She came back at me with an absolute NO (which was probably for the best, looking back), because overwhelming much? She did, however, let me have everything else pink. I'm pretty sure the only reason I tried to become a ballerina when I was little was because they wore pink leo's and tutus. Unfortunately, I turned out to be a terrible dancer, so my dream of wearing pink as a career came to a screeching halt.
I know a lot of people are can be a little hesitant to wear pink. Maybe you're afraid of looking too young? Maybe you think you'll come off looking slightly like a bottle of pepto-bismol? Or maybe you're just not into pink! Don't worry, I won't be offended if you hate pink and refuse to ever wear it ;)
Well friends, have no fear! I'm going to share with you how I incorporate my favorite color into my wardrobe and maybe you'll be a little more inspired when you see something pink.
The great thing about pink is it can be worn as a statement color or as a neutral, depending on the shade. For example, this Kate Spade satchel and clutch make great statement pieces for an otherwise bland outfit. The same goes for these heels. They would look great with white skinnies and a navy/white striped shirt or with a simple white, navy, or black dress. To tie pink into neutrals, this cross body and satchel would go well with a simple white blouse and denim shorts or a neutral colored dress. And because I'm obsessed with navy and pink together, I would wear it with a navy dress like this one with nude heels. So classy and feminine! Pale pink also pairs well with heather gray, black, and tan.
I am loving this blush pink winter coat! I think it gives the winter time a breath of fresh air with all the black and dark colors it usually brings. I love how light the color is because it's like a khaki or cream winter coat, just a little more feminine.
A couple more simple ways to incorporate pink is with fingernail polish and lipstick. I always have a light pink and bright pink polish at home. I prefer pink on my toes at all times and on my fingernails in the spring and summer. I typically don't wear a ton of lipstick in the warmer months, but a nice shade of pink (remember, it doesn't have to be bright!) always makes me feel a little more put together whether its lipstick, gloss, or just a tinted chapstick. Speaking as someone who has wasted too much money on the wrong color lipstick, go to the makeup counter, try it on and talk to a makeup artist who can steer you in the right direction. It will be so worth it. You'll be able to find your perfect shade and will never have to guess again!
I would also just like to point out this bow-utiful pink dress. The back!!! (insert heart eyes emoji here!) And it's under $60!
How do you incorporate pink into your wardrobe?
Stay sunny,
Katie
