HOMEMADE SKIRT

shirt // skirt (homemade but fabric linked) // Jacks // clutch (similar linked) // watch // earrings // bracelet // spoon ring

Two of my favorite colors are navy and pink, so it's a go-to color combination in my book. My mama used to make all of my dresses when I was little and I always loved it. I've always wanted to learn, but it was hard to find time when I was busy in school. Now that I'm out, I have finally found some time to sit down and learn from my wonderful and talented mother!

I found this perfectly preppy print at Hobby Lobby and I knew I wanted to make it into a skirt. I picked up a pattern for an a-line skirt with an elastic waistband (you can choose a waistband with a button on the back or side), followed it and wah-la! It was so simple to make (with lots of steps and guidance from mom!) and so inexpensive! The pattern was around $7 and the fabric was $5 per yard. You can't beat that! I can't wait to further my skills onto more pieces!

I paired my skirt with this ruffled collar tank from Marley Lilly's Monday Dress Boutique. If you haven't checked them out, you should! And because I'm (a little) obsessed with navy- my navy & white Jacks were the perfect touch!

Have you ever tried your hand at sewing?

Stay sunny,

Katie
